Sri Lanka, Feb. 23 -- A delegation led by Kailashanand Giri ji Maharaj, the chief priest of the Shiva Temple in Ayodhya, India, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport this morning (February 23) for a special visit.
The 14-member delegation, comprising lay and religious figures, flew from New Delhi on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-192 and was received at the airport by Tourism Deputy Minister Ruwan Ranasinghe.
During their visit, the group is scheduled to tour several prominent Shiva temples in Sri Lanka, including Thiruketheeswaram in Mannar, Naguleswaram in Jaffna, Koneswaram in Trincomalee, Seetha Amman Temple in Nuwara Eliya, as well as ancient Shiva temple sites in Polonnaruwa.
