Srilanka, May 6 -- The National People's Power (NPP) has claimed victory in the Ambalangoda Urban Council election in the Galle District.
The NPP garnered 5,736 votes, earning 11 seats in the council. The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) came in second with 2,934 votes, gaining 5 seats.
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) secured 3 seats with 1,928 votes. The United National Party (UNP) and an Independent Group each obtained one seat, with 553 and 552 votes respectively.
The 'Sarvajana Balaya' (SB) also earned representation, winning one seat with 447 votes.
