Colombo, April 11 -- According to the Sri Lanka Air Quality Index (SL AQI), a moderate level of air quality was recorded in most cities during the past 24 hours, while a good level of air quality was observed in Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya, Mullaitivu, Batticaloa, Kalutara and Hambantota.

The Vehicular Emission Test Trust Fund of the Department of Motor Traffic forecast that the AQI level will range between 38 and 72 over the next 24 hours, indicating moderate air quality in most cities, and good air quality in Kegalle, Mullaitivu, Batticaloa and Kalutara.

The highest AQI levels are expected between 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
