Colombo, April 20 -- Additional trains have been scheduled in response to the surge in devotees attending the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, the Railways Department said.

They announced the operation of two special train services between Colombo Fort and Kandy till April 28.

Accordingly, one special train will depart Colombo Fort at 7:55 p.m. daily and is scheduled to arrive in Kandy by midnight. The return service will leave Kandy at 8:30 p.m. and reach Colombo Fort by midnight.

These additional trains aim to accommodate the increased passenger flow during the pilgrimage period and will make a stop at Rambukkana station along their route.
