Sri Lanka, Nov. 19 -- A tense situation arose yesterday morning (18) at the Parliamentary office of Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne after a snake was spotted inside the premises.

Staff members first noticed the snake when it attempted to enter through a window near the area where the Speaker usually takes his meals.

After the incident was reported, the Parliament's garden maintenance officer acted promptly and removed the snake from the location, parliamentary sources said.
