Sri Lanka, Nov. 30 -- About 400 Indian migrant air passengers, who had been stranded at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for several days due to flight disruptions caused by the recent cyclone in Sri Lanka, were safely evacuated to India yesterday (30), airport officials confirmed.

Approximately 150 passengers were flown to New Delhi on flight C-130 at 2:30 pm, while another 250 passengers departed for Trivandrum on flight IL-76 at 4:00 pm. Both aircraft also carried flood relief aid.

The evacuation comes after severe weather caused widespread disruption to flights, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded at the airport.
