Srilanka, Feb. 13 -- A total of 2,000 doctors have already left the health services and 5,000 more are set to leave the country, according to the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA).
The GMOA's Dr. Chamil Wijesiri stated that many problems may arise due to the shortage of drug suppliers.
He stated that these doctors have already met all the necessary qualifications to work abroad.
Meanwhile, Wijesiri stated that the medical staff in the country should be protected, the economy should be stable, the government should implement short-term solutions and he believes that the budget proposal will bring about necessary change.
