Srilanka, May 5 -- Fifteen Sri Lankans who have been trapped in cybercrime centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar, are set to be rescued tomorrow, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
The Ministry said the rescue operation is being carried out on the instructions of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, with assistance from officials at the Sri Lankan mission in Myanmar.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Thailand will provide airline tickets and local transport for the rescued individuals.
The Ministry said that all arrangements have been made through the Sri Lankan Mission in Thailand, in coordination with the Governor of Tak Province and local immigration authorities.
