Sri Lanka, June 17 -- Former India captain Rohit Sharma, who recently stepped away from Test cricket himself, shared a heartfelt message for Sri Lanka's Angelo Mathews ahead of the veteran all-rounder's farewell to the longest format.
Mathews, is playing his 119th and final Test match against Bangladesh in Galle. While he bids adieu to the red-ball game, Mathews has confirmed plans to continue in white-ball cricket, aiming to retire after the 2026 T20 World Cup.
"Hey Angie, congratulations on your fantastic career. Over the years we had some pretty good battles from our under-19 days to now. You've been a true servant for your nation and I'm pretty sure everyone back at home appreciates what you've done for your country," Rohit said.
