New Delhi, Oct. 30 -- xAI's Grokipedia 0.1, built on the Grok model, was launched as an AI-first encyclopedia with approximately 800,000-900k entries at rollout. It promises faster, less "politically biased" information than Wikipedia, but the automated approach raises fresh questions about sourcing, transparency, and editorial control.

Grokipedia departs from Wikipedia's community-driven model by using xAI's Grok model to generate and maintain articles. The platform is presented as a "truth-seeking knowledge base" and launched in an early 0.1 release. According to xAI's public messaging, the goal is to synthesise information at speed and scale without the editorial layers that govern Wikipedia's volunteer ecosystem.
