Mumbai, Nov. 12 -- Hyundai has revealed the name of its new compact sedan, christened as the Aura. Test-mules of the model has previously been spotted testing, hinting that a launch might not be far away. Once launched, the Hyundai Aura will rival against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and the Ford Aspire.

Based on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, the Aura could replace the Xcent. Engine options for the model could include a BS-VI compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.2-litre diesel engine, with the latter expected to debut in its BS-VI avatar sometime later. Transmission options on the model are likely to include a five-speed manual gearbox and an AMT unit.
