Dhaka, Jan. 25 -- A 14-year-old boy has died after falling on the road while filming a procession linked to an election rally held by BNP leader Tarique Rahman in the port city of Chattogram.

The incident occurred on Sunday in front of Hall 24 near the city stadium.

The teenager was identified as Saidul Islam Chishti, who lived in the Enayet Bazar area of the city.

Abu Sultan Sani, member secretary of the Kotwali Thana unit of Chhatra Dal, the BNP's student wing, said party activists had gathered near the stadium gate in the morning as Tarique attended a programme at a nearby hotel.

He said the group was preparing to head towards the Polo Ground, the rally venue, when the boy began recording a video of the procession.
