Dhaka, Dec. 11 -- A man has been killed in a clash between two factions of the Chhatra Dal, the BNP's student wing, in Chattogram's Mirsharai Upazila.

Police and witnesses said the incident unfolded on Wednesday night in the Sadar area of the Baroirhat Municipality.

The victim was identified as 23-year-old Tahmid Ullah, the son of Md Alamgir.

Jorarganj Police Station chief Kazi Nazmul Haque told bdnews24.com that Tahmid was injured during the violence between the rival groups at the municipal headquarters.

He later died at Chattogram Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment.

"Initially, we heard that the two sides were meeting at a tea shop in the municipality to resolve a previous dispute," Nazmul said.
