Dhaka, Dec. 5 -- Jamaat-e-Islami chief Shafiqur Rahman has called for the triumph of the aspirations of 180 million people, something he claims can be realised through "Quranic law".

He emphasised that his call is not for the victory of any specific party or alliance.

Shafiqur made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the divisional rally of Jamaat and seven other parties at Laldighi Maidan in Chattogram on Friday afternoon.

The rally was held to press for a five-point charter of demand, including a referendum on the July Charter ahead of the general elections.
