Dhaka, Dec. 1 -- The High Court has lifted its stay on the increased fees at Chattogram Port, removing any legal barrier to their collection, according to port officials.

The chamber judge of the Supreme Court revoked the injunction last Tuesday, prompting the Chittagong Port Authority's chief finance and accounts officer to issue a circular on Sunday for collecting fees at the higher rates.

Chattogram Port Secretary Md Omar Faruk confirmed to bdnews24.com, "There is no longer any obstacle to collecting fees at the increased rate."
