Dhaka, Feb. 2 -- Jamal Uddin, the father of slain lawyer Saiful Islam Alif and the plaintiff in the murder case, has testified before a Chattogram court, seeking justice and the swift completion of the trial.

Chattogram Speedy Trial Tribunal Judge Zahidul Haque recorded his testimony on Monday afternoon.

The state-appointed counsel for one suspect cross-examined the complainant.

The court has fixed Feb 18 for the next date for hearing the case. The lawyer for Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari demanded time before cross-examining the witnesses.

"The plaintiff has sought justice for the murder of his son," said SUM Nurul Islam, public prosecutor.
