Dhaka, Nov. 13 -- Chattogram Police have seized 100,000 yaba tablets after a driver abandoned his car and fled upon seeing a police checkpoint.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening on Mariners' Road in the city's Firingibazar area, with the car later being seized.

Md Nure Al Mahmud, assistant commissioner of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police, told bdnews24.com that a team from Kotwali Police Station was conducting a checkpoint operation on Mariners' Road.

"A silver private car approaching from Firingibazar stopped just before the checkpoint, and the driver fled," he said.
