Dhaka, Nov. 29 -- At least 15 people have been injured in Tangail's Delduar Upazila as rival factions of the BNP clashed over candidacy.
The confrontation occurred around midday at Elasin Bazar between supporters of the party's nominated candidate Robiul Awal Lawlu and supporters of Jewel Sarkar, who was denied the nomination, according to Delduar Police chief Shoaib Khan.
BNP activists said Jewel's supporters had staged a human chain demanding his nomination in Tangail-6 (Nagarpur-Delduar), also praying for Khaleda Zia's recovery.
