Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- Protesters have called a non-stop work stoppage to object to the decision to hand over management of Chittagong Port's New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) to UAE-based operator DP World.

On Tuesday afternoon, Ibrahim Khokon, coordinator of the Chittagong Port Protection Struggle Council, said the authorities are taking different measures, including the transfer of those associated with the movement.

"Overall, we have decided to continue our strike indefinitely to achieve our demands."

He claimed that no work was done inside the port on Tuesday due to the strike.
