India, Aug. 26 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first unit of Maruti Suzuki's first all-electric car, the e Vitara, from the production line at the Hansalpur factory in Gujarat. The electric SUV made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2025, following its global unveiling in late last year. It will be exclusively manufactured in our market for global exports, marking a significant milestone in the country's 'Make in India' journey. Along with the commencement of e Vitara production, PM Modi also inaugurated a new lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility at the same location.
