New Delhi, April 15 -- Mercedes-Benz India has reached a big milestone by making its 200,000th car locally. The car is the all-electric EQS SUV, built at the company's Chakan plant near Pune. Mercedes-Benz started its India journey in 1995 with the W124 E-Class. This latest step shows the brand's focus on electric vehicles and its long-term plans for the Indian market. It took Mercedes-Benz nearly 20 years to make its first 50,000 cars in India. The next 50,000 came in just nine years. The biggest leap came recently - the last 50,000 cars were made in just two years. This fast growth shows how demand for luxury cars in India is rising and how the company has scaled up its production quickly.
