New Delhi, June 23 -- The Swift has been in the Indian market for 20 years, marking a significant milestone for Maruti Suzuki. Since its launch, the hatchback has developed into one of the brand's most popular models, surpassing the 30 lakh sales mark in India alone. There have been notable improvements with every generation. The original Swift made its debut in 2005, and its successors followed in 2011, 2018, and 2023. The model, which is in its fourth generation, accounts for almost 10% of Maruti Suzuki's domestic sales volume and commands an impressive 31% share in its category.
