India, Oct. 16 -- The Brazil-manufactured Citroen Basalt has received a zero-star safety rating in the latest Latin NCAP crash tests. This completely contrasts with its India-spec version, which earned 4 stars under Bharat NCAP. In recent Latin NCAP safety tests, the Brazilian-spec Basalt scored less across multiple safety categories despite offering four airbags and ESC as standard. It achieved just 39.37% for Adult Occupant Protection, 58.35% for Child Occupant Safety, 53.38% in Pedestrian Protection, and 34.88% in Safety Assist. According to Latin NCAP's crash tests, the model lacks key safety features such as side head airbags and ADAS, which aren't even offered as add-ons.
