New Delhi, May 2 -- As the new month kicks off, automakers have started sharing their sales figures. Maruti Suzuki, maintaining its stronghold as a market leader, reported a 7% increase in total sales. The company sold 1.80 lakh vehicles in April 2025, up from 1.68 lakh units sold in April 2024. Domestic sales remained steady at 1.39 lakh units, showing minimal variance from last year's 1.38 lakh units. Exports, however, saw a notable jump of 25.95% to 27,911 units.
The entry-level segment comprising the Alto and S-Presso saw a sharp downturn in April 2025, with sales dropping to 6,332 units from 11,519 in the same month last year. In contrast, Maruti Suzuki's compact segment continued to show strong market traction. Popular models such ...
