JORHAT, Oct. 16 -- An incident of a mother of a newborn jumping from the third floor of the building housing the maternity ward of the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital in the wee hours today and thereafter dying has caused sensation.
Pinky Tanti, a mother of two daughters left behind a six-day old son in the ward. Pinky, wife of Akash Tanti, hails from Behora Tea Estate at Bokakhat of Golaghat district.
A JMCH sources have not ruled out post natal depression as one of the causes of the incident, but said that no such symptoms were seen on her on Tuesday. The source, quoting eyewitness, said Pinky had a quarrel with her husband Akash Tanti yesterday.
