Colombo, April 21 -- The Provincial Council of the Western Province was dissolved as of midnight on Sunday 21st April,2019.
Western Province Governor M. Azath S. Salley signed the gazette notification for the dissolution of the provincial council according to section 154 E of the 13th amendment to the constitution of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka at his office on Sunday.
