Los Angeles, Jan. 31 -- : Sports-related sudden cardiac arrest in older individuals occurs in just 2 to 3 incidents per 1,00,000 people annually.

The research was published in the peer-reviewed journal JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology.

77 (1.9 per cent) of the 4,078 sudden cardiac arrest instances in adults 65 and older were exercise-related, including cycling, working out at the gym, running, or playing tennis or golf. Men (91 per cent of the time) suffered cardiac arrests the most.
