Islamabad, March 22 -- : Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday received greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Pakistan National Day.

"Received msg from PM Modi: "I extend my greetings & best wishes to the people of Pakistan on the National Day of Pakistan. It is time that ppl of Sub-continent work together for a democratic, peaceful, progressive & prosperous region, in an atmosphere free of terror and violence," Khan tweeted.

While Islamabad would be celebrating the occasion on March 23, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi organised events a day earlier on Friday.

India, however, did not send any representative to the event.
