Ranchi administration implements bonfire arrangements across district amid severe cold Ranchi, Dec 3 ( UNI ) In view of the intensifying cold wave and falling night temperatures, the Ranchi district administration has ensured extensive bonfire arrangements across the district, following the directions of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri. Bonfires have been set up at major intersections in Ranchi city and across all 18 blocks, including block headquarters, panchayat bhawans, key market areas, important junctions, and locations with higher concentrations of vulnerable populations. The initiative aims to provide relief to the needy, homeless, daily-wage labourers, rickshaw pullers, footpath dwellers, and individuals working night shifts. Officials had earlier been instructed to begin preparations promptly and ensure adequate supply of firewood, kerosene, and other materials. DC Manjunath Bhajantri stated, "The district administration's priority is to ensure that no citizen suffers due to the cold. All concerned officials have been directed to keep bonfires burning regularly and arrange additional bonfires wherever required." UNI KT
