Jakarta, Aug. 15 -- Women's representation in the Indonesian parliament for the 2024-2029 period has reached the highest level in the nation's history, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani stated.

"Women's representation in the DPR for the 2024-2029 period has reached a historic record high, amounting to around 21.9 percent or 127 out of 580 members of the DPR," she remarked at the Parliamentary Complex here on Friday.
