Bogor, W Java, Nov. 12 -- On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, alongside his Indonesian counterpart President Prabowo Subianto, announced the substantive conclusion of negotiations for a new landmark defense treaty between the two countries.

Although the full details of the treaty, which is expected to be signed in January next year, have not yet been made public, Prime Minister Albanese outlined its core aspects.
