Padang, Feb. 3 -- The West Sumatra provincial government is targeting that all survivors of flash floods and landslides in several affected areas are relocated to temporary shelters before the start of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri.
"We hope and are working to ensure that all flood survivors are able to move into temporary shelters before Ramadan 1447 Hijri," West Sumatra Provincial Secretary Arry Yuswandi said in Padang on Tuesday.
Yuswandi said the local government, working with Indonesia's National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Danantara, and the military and police, is accelerating the construction of temporary shelters in Agam Regency, Tanah Datar Regency, and several other locations.
