Bandung, West Java, May 29 -- Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf announced that 11 locations in West Java Province are ready to implement the free school program "Sekolah Rakyat" (People's School) this year, aimed at providing education to low-income families.

"In West Java, around 1,150 students will take part in the program at 11 sites," Minister Yusuf remarked here on Thursday.

Meanwhile, at the national level, the minister remarked that the Ministry of Public Works is currently renovating 65 locations for the Sekolah Rakyat program.

"We expect renovations to be completed by July. If the target is met, the total number of pilot sites for the Sekolah Rakyat program could reach 100," he noted.
