Jambi, July 9 -- The forest and land fire task force has continued weather modification operations (OMC) to spread 13 tons of salt on clouds to induce artificial rain in Jambi and anticipate forest fires ahead of the dry season.
"This operation involves several parties, including the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), PT Wira Karya Sakti (WKS), and PT Songo Aviasi Indonesia," BMKG supervisor Faisal Sunarto said here on Tuesday.
While the operation is planned to continue until July 10, 2025, its schedule is dynamic and could change based on evaluation.
No hotspots were detected in Jambi on Wednesday.
