Jakarta, July 17 -- Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has expressed his support for greater public involvement in helping the Indonesian National Police (Polri) maintain order and security in society.

He demonstrated this stance by inaugurating the new headquarters of Senkom Mitra Polri, or the Communication Center of Polri's Partners-a community organization dedicated to assisting the police in safeguarding public safety.

"In the name of God, I hereby inaugurate the Headquarters of Senkom Mitra Polri. Hopefully, this building will be put to good use," he remarked at the launch event in East Jakarta on Thursday.
