Jakarta, Sept. 4 -- Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming visited several residential areas in Jakarta late Wednesday to inspect neighborhood watch (Siskamling) posts and reinforce public order following recent demonstrations.
The visit, which began around 10 p.m. local time, was announced in a statement from the Vice Presidential Secretariat on Thursday.
Gibran first stopped at the RW (Community Unit) 07 post in Kwitang Village, Central Jakarta, before continuing to the RW 09 post in Kota Bambu, West Jakarta.
"During the visit, the Vice President not only conducted inspections but also held discussions with residents on night patrol," the statement said.
