Jakarta, May 6 -- Indonesia's National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) has said that calls to impeach Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka must not be entertained since he was voted into office democratically.
"The people's decision to vote for President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is final; it was produced through the democratic process and reflected the people's choice," Lemhannas Head Ace Hasan Syadzily announced at a press conference here Tuesday.
The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) also inducted Prabowo and Gibran into office on October 20, 2024, without disputing the election results, he added.
Syadzily said that based on those factors, the agency will not heed any calls to impeach Gibran.
