Jakarta, June 20 -- Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono emphasized that Sekolah Rakyat is not a military-style educational institution, but rather one focused on character and discipline, aimed at reaching children from underprivileged families.

"Military education is not part of this. This is character education, not military-style education," Agus stated after closing the first retreat for Sekolah Rakyat principals at the 1/Faletehan Air Defense Artillery Regiment headquarters in Jakarta on Friday.
