Jakarta, March 29 -- Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar has asked Indonesian Muslims to strengthen the spirit of tolerance and brotherhood in society on Eid al-Fitr, which will be observed simultaneously across the nation on Monday.

"Hopefully, this Eid will be a means for Muslims in Indonesia to maintain tolerance and togetherness, both in carrying out worship and in society," he said at a press conference on the isbat (confirmation) session of 1 Shawwal 1446 Hijri in Jakarta on Saturday.

The government has set March 31, 2025, as the first day of Eid al-Fitr based on the results of the direct observation of the hilal by the ministry.
