Jakarta, April 7 -- Deputy Foreign Minister of Indonesia Arif Havas Oegroseno stated that the vacant position of Indonesian Ambassador to the United States would not affect the negotiation process for the US reciprocal tariff policy.

He emphasized that the delegation team led by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto is capable of negotiating with the US in a high-level meeting, given their ministerial-level positions.

"Therefore, the (negotiation process) will be of high-level meeting," Oegroseno stated during a press conference here on Monday.

He explained that the position of Indonesian Ambassador to the US is still vacant due to the recent change in government.
