Jakarta, Nov. 13 -- The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) announced that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved four laboratories in Indonesia to conduct Cesium-137 (Cs-137) testing on shrimp products.

Head of Marine and Fisheries Products Quality Control and Supervision Agency, Ishartini, said the approval marks an important step in accelerating Cs-137-free certification services for Indonesian shrimp exports to the US.

"These laboratories have the capacity and competence to carry out Cs-137 testing on shrimp to support Cs-137-free certification services," Ishartini stated in an official statement issued by the ministry here on Thursday.
