Jakarta, Jan. 12 -- The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has reminded urban village heads of their role as the front line in flood management in their respective areas.

"Jakarta has regulations that designate urban village heads as disaster handlers. Everyone under their authority also becomes part of the front line during a disaster," Head of the Jakarta BPBD Data and Disaster Information Center Mohamad Yohan said at a flood site on NIS Road, East Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Monday.

He said urban village heads and officials under them, including neighborhood (RT) and community (RW) administrators, must remain alert before, during, and after flood incidents in their areas.
