Bandung, West Java, April 9 -- Padjadjaran University (Unpad) has expelled a doctor studying in its Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS), Bandung, following the filing of a sexual violence case by a patient's family.

Unpad Chancellor, Professor Arief S. Kartasasmita, said that the decision to dismiss the student reflects the institution's firm stance in responding to sexual violence allegations and violations of the law and norms.

"We are deeply concerned about this case. We will not tolerate any form of violation," he stressed in a statement issued on Wednesday.
