Jakarta, Sept. 21 -- The United Nations will hold a high-level session on Sunday to push for wider recognition of the State of Palestine and to strengthen international support for a two-state solution, an Indonesian official said.
The session, titled "High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution," will run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time on September 22.
"The goal is to encourage as many countries as possible to recognize Palestine. This would strengthen its position in peace negotiations," said Hari Prabowo, Indonesia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, during a media briefing in New York on Saturday.
