Depok, West Java, Dec. 12 -- The University of Indonesia (UI) deployed a team of experts from the UI Peduli Disaster Emergency Response team to assist in the recovery efforts from the floods in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

The formation of this team was a follow-up to the mandate of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), which appointed UI to participate in the "Disaster Response University" program.

UI Rector, Prof. Heri Hermansyah, said that UI's presence at the disaster site brings a science-based approach.
