Denpasar, Sept. 9 -- Indonesian authorities have arrested two British nationals in Bali on suspicion of smuggling 1.3 kilograms of cocaine into the country.

The Bali National Narcotics Agency (BNN) announced the arrests on Tuesday, describing the suspects as members of an international drug trafficking syndicate.

Identified by their initials KG (29) and PE (48), the men allegedly transported the cocaine from Barcelona, Spain. According to BNN Chief Brig. Gen. Rudy Ahmad Sudrajat, both had been residing in Thailand prior to meeting in Barcelona.

"PE traveled to Bali first and waited for the shipment," Sudrajat said at a press conference in Denpasar.
