Jakarta, Sept. 26 -- Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara affirmed that the national transmigration program is undergoing a major transformation, from merely relocating people into a strategic effort to develop modern, science-based economic regions.

"Transmigration is no longer just about moving people, but about building human resources. It is not only about creating settlements, but developing economic zones," he said here on Friday.

He made the statement during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Transmigration, and the Ministry of Industry in Jakarta.
