Jakarta, Aug. 5 -- PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Operations 1 Jakarta (KAI Daop 1 Jakarta) has reported an increase in train-related accidents involving vehicles and pedestrians from January to July 2025, compared to the same period last year.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta spokesperson Ixfan Hendriwintoko said on Tuesday that there were 33 collisions involving trains and vehicles at level crossings, and 111 incidents involving trains and pedestrians along railway tracks.

"These figures are higher than those recorded during the same period in 2024, when there were 29 vehicle-related accidents at level crossings and 92 incidents involving pedestrians on railway tracks," Ixfan stated in Jakarta.
