Jakarta, April 2 -- A member of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR), Lola Nelria Oktavia, has emphasized the importance of carrying out traffic engineering during the 2025 Eid al-Fitr transportation period.

"It is essential to enhance the effectiveness of traffic engineering, such as contraflow, one-way, and odd-even systems that must be adjusted with the dynamics in the field," she said in a statement released here on Wednesday.

The number of accidents was much lower during this year's Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flows compared to the year-ago period, dropping significantly by 31.37 percent from 2,152 in 2024 to 1,477 in 2025.
