Jakarta, June 28 -- Following the death of Brazilian tourist Juliana Marins, 26, while hiking in the Mount Rinjani National Park, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), the Tourism Ministry has reiterated the importance of hikers adhering to climbing protocols.

Expressing her condolences to the victim's family, Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana reaffirmed the government's commitment to tourist safety.

"We express our sincere condolences to Juliana Marins' family for this tragic loss," she said in an official statement released in Jakarta on Saturday.
